I’m really not a boat person. An ex boyfriend and I took a canoe trip down a creek once, and my family took a float trip down a small river (I think) with rapids decades ago. That’s it. Don’t think I’ll be buying any boats anytime soon.
I sure hope the grid doesn’t go down this summer. I would love to go to the mountains for the hot weather, but everything is so far away from here. I think I’m going to be stuck another year, anyway.

We used to camp up in the San Juans and go scuba diving for abalone, rock scallops, bay scallops, spear rock fish and ling cod, etc etc.
The campground had fruit trees of all kinds and we’d pick boxes of prime fresh fruit. NW breeze off the water about the best air quality in the USA. AAA+
Climate Crisis/GW Scare is a political movement by the ill informed. The real crisis will be from the cold and what it is doing and will do to our food crops world wide. The last frost here damaged at least half my fruit crops. Honey bees were no where to be seen, due to the cold temps, as my fruit trees opened their blossoms. Will have to wait several more weeks to see how much of my fruit fails due to lack of pollination.
What are you going to do when it does get cold cold? You can build hoop houses fairly cheap with PVC and clear plastic. Get 20’sticks of 1.5″ schedule 40 at irrigation supply stores they will deliver. Trim the trees so they would fit in a hoop house just in case, they shed snow well too. Build more for gardens, vent rocket stoves in the dirt floor for thermal mass heating you can grow in the snow. I build small hoop houses on raised beds with pieces of 1′ poly pipe and clear plastic just tack on with lath, keeps the critters out till the plants get going.
There’s vids on it. Bury vent pipes, heat up the dirt.
You can put vent pipes in cob furniture and heat the room, there’s vids on that with wonderful hobbit art. It’s the sideways vent system vs normal vertical stove pipe. Heat transfer to mass rather than heat going up and lost. You can watch vids for days on it on youtube.
Also woodgas fired internal combustion engines use wood to run a tractor. Million cars in WW2 ran on firewood in EU, factory VW and Volvos. You can get woodgas out of rocket stoves with venting off combustion chamber to run get set and or heat water with copper pipe wrap on vent pipes.

My priorities have changed considerably in the past couple of years. The world is changing and so am I. Not so susceptible to grand new schemes. Just wanting to focus my energy and resources on what I already have and trim things down, make everything more efficient.

Boat’s a little on the small side. Great for a day sail, but I wouldn’t want to live there, lol.
